Golden State Warriors

Golden State Warriors achieved a league record on Friday by scoring 37 points (in a single quarter) against the Sacramento Kings, they beat the Boston Celtics (on Sunday night), and so they have the best league record of 36-6. Coach Steve Kerr said.’’ Couldn’t imagine this, I knew we’d have a good team, but to be where we are right now is remarkable’’.

Steve Kerr often convinces his players to start believing in the potentially diminished roles and in the schemes. But it is hard because of player egos (‘’multimillion dollar egos in multimillion dollar business’’). Another problem is players with long contracts signed, so they don’t want to destroy bonds that are holding their team together.

Warriors have two former All-Stars, David Lee and Andre Iguodala and players like Marreese Speights, Shaun Livingston, and Leandro Barbosa. Just those five players are enough for remarkable results. Last week they defeated the Nuggets, 15-0 run in the second quarter and 67 points overall.

Through Saturday, the Warriors were ranked eighth in the league, with an average 35.4 points per game, better that opponents by 5.6 points per 100 possessions. In the last year, they were 23rd in the league, with an average 28 points per game.

Kerr’s move to leave Knicks and start coaching the Warriors is the best basketball move in the 21th century! He thought that Warriors cannot achieve this huge success and that they should match their number of wins from last season. Unique fact about this team is their teamwork, they often put the team ahead themselves, and that is something hard to find. Justin Holiday said ‘’ I can’t be angry, sitting on the bench when, person next to me is All-Star’’.
