CCAA Badminton National Championships for Male and Female Category
During the month of March 2015, the CCAA Badminton National Championships will be hosted by the University of King's College in Halifax, N.S. This is the first time that the University has got the opportunity to host the event. Every year different Universities get such opportunity of hosting the event.
The governing body for organizing sports in colleges of Canada is Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Formed in the year 1974, the CCAA has taken the responsibility of hosting ten national championships annually including Badminton. Apart from CCAA, Canadian Interuniversity Sport is also responsible for organizing sports for colleges in Canada. The badminton competition is held for both male and female category every year.
Student athletes from different colleges participate in the various categories that are held. The titles that they would be competing for are men and women’s doubles, men and women’s singles and mixed doubles. The match which will be held from 4th March to 7th March 2015 would also be aired on television and millions of people like every year would watch the match to see who the winner is for 2015. The big event will also comprise a tournament breakfast for the participants and the officials and also CCAA National Championship Awards Banquet.
The list of participants who are representing their respective colleges would be engaged in playing the various competitions against their competitors which is pre determined by CCAA. The main purpose of CCAA is to enrich the lives of the students who are interested in sports by conducting such intercollegiate competitions.
